As 2015 begins to draw to a close it presents a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the creativity, passion and innovation that defines family business as well as celebrate the achievements of 2015. FBA have a number of events being held across the states. Take the opportunity to engage with your friends in the family business sector and make some new ones with the upcoming opportunities:

Nov 18 Hall of Fame and Gala Dinner – Adelaide
Nov 19 Hall of Fame and Gala Dinner – Sydney
Nov 19 End of Year Celebration – Melbourne
Nov 20 End of Year Celebration – Brisbane
Nov 26 Meet The Family Behind The Business – Perth

The Hall of Fame events play a significant role in the advocacy of Australian family businesses by engaging the broader community in recognising the importance of the family business sector. Those family businesses inducted into the state-based halls of fame also have the opportunity to go in the running to win the Distinguished Family Business of the Year Award, announced at the National Conference each year. We encourage all family businesses and stakeholders to take part in these great events.

FBA’s Family Business Survey, researched by the University of Adelaide Business School and sponsored by KPMG has recently been released. The survey reveals five key trends that are shaping the future of Australian family business including:

  • Objectives and performance
  • Managing and resolving conflict
