It is not long until we hear from FBA Accredited Adviser Rob Davis on Thursday 28 July presenting on a topic relevant to every family business, small or large. Rob will be addressing how understanding the many forms of governance structures and strategies can impact on the success of your business. Rob believes it is more about knowing what to look for, what to do next and when to do so (to ensure you don’t get blindsided).

Rob is passionate about helping family businesses succeed and is looking forward to sharing insights into what to actively look for (ie. the signs) that it’s time to step up and what to do about leading and managing that process at the upcoming breakfast seminar on Thursday 28th July.

New Partner for WA
In another first for WA and FBA we are very pleased to announce we have formed an alliance with 101 Business Radio. The team from 101 Business Radio will offer great opportunities for both FBA to raise its public profile and the members to access great marketing and brand building services. You can listen to their broadcasts by visiting their website.

Family Business Hall of Fame 2016 – Save the Date
Nominations will soon be open for the Family Business Hall of Fame 2016, so please look out for our marketing for this, the inductees will be announced at a gala event on the 24th November, so saved the date for this one as it will also be our last networking function for 2016– so what a better chance to celebrate the conclusion of another year with like-minded friends.

National Conference
Don’t forget the FBA National Conference is on in Melbourne on August 17-19.  I’m very much looking forward to seeing the roll out of fantastic speakers. We also have a record number of exhibitors this year, with 14 booths in the trade area, so there will be plenty to keep us all busy during the breaks.

For many of our WA members, the national conference is a time for re-connecting with friends and colleagues from all corners of Australia, as well as making new ones.  With 400+ delegates it is a unique environment and opportunity to engage and interact with the family business community of Australia.  The WA contingency will be gathering for a social evening to kick of the conference, so don’t worry if you don’t know anybody, we will also have a buddy system to ensure you get the most out of your conference experience.

I’m looking forward to seeing you all at the conference.

Until next month!
