Running a small business can be stressful with long hours, financial pressures, paper work and the juggling of work-life commitments. Looking after your mental health is important not only for the running of your business, but for the wellbeing of you and your loved ones.
That’s why the ATO has been working with small business industry, mental health support services, small business owners and their representatives to develop a strategy to help support small business people impacted by mental health issues.
With a focus on early intervention, the ATO wants business owners to be aware of the warning signs and if you’re experiencing mental health issues and struggling to lodge or pay, to contact them as soon as possible. The ATO can help in a variety of ways including:

  • tailored payment plans
  • deferring your lodgements or payments
