FBA WA Chair Lance Stringer said the annual awards provide an opportunity for family businesses to recognise the achievements and hard work of the Inductees, be inspired by these outstanding companies as well as celebrate the successes in their own family businesses.
Hiddlestone Electrics based in Subiaco has provided electrical services to household, office and industrial areas since its establishment in 1920. With the third generation currently running the business, they take pride in their strong reputation with some of their customers using their services for 96 years.

Joint Managing Director, Natalie Hiddlestone says she is proud Hiddlestone Electrics was inducted into the Hall of Fame “I would like to honour my dad’s memory and how much he devoted to the business. We’ve also just had “Hiddlestone Lane” in Subiaco named after him”.
Baileys is a family-owned and operated company which manufactures premium blended and fully granulated lawn and garden products from its premises in Kwinana WA. The family has been involved in the horticultural industry since 1926, originally based in Spearwood WA supplying market gardeners, flower producers and orchardists. Now in its fourth generation Baileys has become the leader in development of specialist products for both the turf, horticultural and domestic market.

In relation to their future aspirations Kim Bailey, Managing Director says “We want our business to remain under family ownership as it is handed to the next generation and recognise the importance of governance structures – we now have a formalised family council to support our mission, vision and values moving forward”.

VEEM Limited was established in 1968 and is a marine technology company specialising primarily in propulsion and stabilisation systems and also provides products and services to the marine, defence and mining industries. From modest beginnings as a small engineering services company specialising in the repair and dynamic balancing of drive shafts, engines and other rotating equipment, the company has grown to become a premium manufacturer of sophisticated equipment for a variety of industries and was awarded the Australian Marine Exporter of the Year in 2012 and 2013.

Chairman, Brad Miocevich, says “The induction into the Hall of Fame is a lovely recognition for my mother in her 80s who has driven the business and been the head of the family unit for a long time. It’s also a wonderful acknowledgement and something the next generation can look to and be proud of and that may give them the required drive and passion to be involved in the company”.

The Hall of Fame Dinner took place at the stunning ‘Rambla on Swan’ a family owned waterfront venue on Thursday 24 November. This event run by Family Business Australia brought together family business leaders and employees, as well as their advisers and supporters.
