Kennards Hire is delighted to announce the appointment of Angus Kennard as its new CEO, effective 24 October 2016.

Angus has been a key member of the Kennards Hire board and leadership team since 2005, and recently celebrated 20 years directly involved with Australia’s leading equipment hire business. In particular, he founded Kennards Concrete Care which is now a specialist business unit under the Kennards Hire umbrella with eight stores in Australia and New Zealand.

Announcing Angus’ appointment, Kennards Hire Chairman Brendan Fleiter said, “Angus was chosen in a robust and thorough selection process. He is ideally suited to grow and develop the business while ensuring it remains true to the cultural values that have made it successful.”

“It goes without saying that Angus is exceptionally conversant with the business and is well respected from Kennards Hire branch level through to industry and channel partners. Together with his industry knowledge and commercial skills, the board is pleased to formalise his leadership position.”

Angus will take over from acting CEO Bill Whitehouse, who has led the business since May this year. Bill will resume his position as Chief Operations Officer.

Reflecting on his appointment, Angus said, “Our family business has been almost 70 years in the making. It’s both a great privilege and pleasure to take up the position of CEO.

We’ve had a customer centric philosophy that began with my grandfather so, leading the future success of the Kennards Hire business is a challenge I am exceptionally passionate about.”

Following in the footsteps of his father Andy, Angus will lead the company his grandfather Walter founded in Bathurst in 1948. He lives in Sydney with his wife and 4 children. He holds an MBA from Sydney University and Bachelor of Business degree. Angus is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a finalist in the 2011 Ernst and Young, Entrepreneur of the Year award for NSW.
