Summer has passed us by and it’s been a busy start to the FBA year. I’ve attended a few events on behalf of FBA including an EWM round-table event around wealth transfer, and introduced Brad Scott at a couple of breakfasts while Alex was on annual leave. I’ve met a potential new FBA member to discuss the benefits that I’ve received from FBA over the years and met with the NSW Business Chamber to see if there are some synergies between the two organisations. Thank you to Hardeep Girn for making the introduction and for Greg Griffith (CEO) for making the trip up to Sydney for the meeting.

I’d like to Welcome Alex Petersen as our new NSW State Manager. Alex has relocated from Melbourne where she was Victorian State Manager. It’s been an easy transition for us to have Alex start in NSW as she knows her role – it’s just in a different location. She will be reaching out to our members to meet you all over time.

I attended one of the NSW Hall Of Fame winners ‘King Living’ insider events on 22 March. There were around 40 FBA Members having a sneak peak at the inside workings of King Living. I love going to these events and meeting so many new and current members. We will be running another of these events later in the year with our other Hall of Fame Winners, Actron Air.

We also have the ‘State Conference” also known as Family Business Insights 2018. We have been working hard organising the format and speakers in readiness for May 25th. Think about coming along to join around 200 other FBA members.

The National Conference registration process has opened for Alice Springs for September. For those who have had a look at the line up in the programme will see it will be well worth the effort to head to Alice Springs. This year, I’ve decided to bring my two adult children along so they can understand all that is FBA and all about being the next generation in family business.

Keep an eye out for the FBA emails and invitations coming through and get involved with as many events and courses as you can. Consider using the FBA emblem on your websites, business cards, labels, boxes and any other area you market in. If you want more information on using the emblem, please reach out to Alex.

Warm Regards,
